This picture, captured from Apple’s site today (click to enlarge), is proof of two models of iPads will exist. Of course that isn’t anything new, Steve Jobs told us yesterday that there will be a wifi model and a wifi + 3G model. But this is the first time we have seen that there may be a difference in physical appearance between the two models. The 3G model is the one on the left, sporting the black translucent strip for the 3G antennae, while the wifi-only model lacks this sporty feature.

Mac observer.com has released some leaked photos of the upcoming apple tablet glass. The photo also puts the tablet to scale for the first time by showing it on top of a macbook keyboard. It is about the same size as the keyboard verifying the notion of a 10″ tablet screen.
In addition, the photos also show us that the tablet truly appears to be nothing more than an oversized iPhone. We can see the menu button hole in the photos. The black outline around the screen also seconds that idea.
The photos are cryptic and low quality. We don’t know if they are real or not, but they do provide some added speculation to the mystery around the tablet device that is to be released this wednesday. Mac Observer says that they are from a “trustable source”, but doesn’t really clarify who that is.
All in all, the truth will come out in only 2 days. Let’s continue to hold our breath.

iTunes has just released a new way to buy movies. Buy Movie bundles. Movie Bundles are not only a cool way to add more movies to your collection faster, but they carry some really great discounts. Some of the double-packs are only $9.99. This is a deal that we may be praising Apple for this Holiday Season.

Anyone that has purchased an app within the past few hours, or even someone who browsed the app store looking for say… free games (Appvent Calendar: free iphone game every day until christmas) will notice a new look in the app store. Apple has just released this new look and is starting to make the change to all of the apps. Not every app shows these changes just yet, but the greater part does.
So what’s the big deal? What is new? Am I even going to notice? Yes! These are big changes, and you will notice them. Read the rest of this entry »

It has taken over a year for the elusive browser to make its’ way to mac. Ironic, only because the engine behind Chrome is WebKit, which was actually designed by Apple, for macs (specifically Safari), but nonetheless, you can download the browser starting today, in public Beta. Simply visit http://www.google.com/chrome.
There are many exciting features coming our way with this new browser, sadly as well, some features from Chrome in windows, will not be carried over to Mac. Read the rest of this entry »

When I first saw this newsline, I simply thought to myself, “well thats good, more video sites that are iPhone compatible are always nice”, then I continued on working. After about a minute I paused… thought about what I just read, and went back to the article to investigate further. Livestream is not another video supplier for iPhone, I missed the key word. Live video! Livestream has used the new quicktime live support protocol and created an amazingly simple interface to send live video to the any iPhone or iPod touch. That is when I said to myself again, “WOW, this is HUGE!”. Read the rest of this entry »

Good Question… there is a whole lot of great new stuff going on for the new MacBook.
Of course first glance shows the new body shape. The MacBook has been redesigned from the ground up as far as body and structure is concerned. The body is a bit more trim and light than the previous models. It is also a unibody like the macbook pro, which increases strength and durability. It also allows Apple to design it thinner. The screen also received the LED backlit technology which is not only a nicer screen, but on a laptop it also equals better battery life. In conjunction with its’ new battery… we are talking some serious battery life, up to 7Hrs! The new battery in the MacBook is similar to the Pro 13″. It is embedded in the casing which means no more hot-swapping batteries (downside) but also means that you can trim weight and increase battery size. This means that now we are holding the equivalent of about 2 (previous version) batteries with us at all times.
Then there is the nice new Glass Trackpad. This makes the MacBook the first laptop from Apple to receive the glass trackpad. Read the rest of this entry »

The most astonishing piece of Apple’s new phase of upgrades would have to the the Magic Mighty Mouse. This sleek, clean piece of artwork is what we could be using as a mouse for the next many years (mighty mice don’t get updated very frequently). But I think we could all agree, that we would be just fine with that. This mighty mouse has no visible buttons. It is one seamless polished white surface. Read the rest of this entry »

Ok, now The Mac Coach enjoys reading about rumors of upcoming Apple products as much as the rest of you. We get a kick out of what the creative minds have come up with using photoshop and wordpress, which is why The Mac Coach normally steers clear of becoming another Mac Rumor site unless of course the rumor is so outlandish and hysterical that we know that no one wouldn’t want to hear about it, or if the rumor is fairly certain and upcoming. Well in this case, we have found one that falls into the latter category.
Some advertisements have been unintentionally prematurely released by the apple.nl store (That is the Apple Online store in the Netherlands), which verify the rumor that a new mac lineup is on its way any tuesday now for the holiday season. Read the rest of this entry »
