Apple announced today via a press release, that the 3 millionth iPad was sold yesterday. This date marks a mere 80 days since the introduction of the iPad back on April 3rd of this year. Steve Jobs announced that an iPad was being sold every 1.4 seconds during his recent keynote speech at the Apple Developer’s Conference, WWDC.
In the press release, Jobs is again quoted as calling the iPad, “a magical product” that “has become a part of [everyone's] daily lives”. Read the rest of this entry »

It isn’t and iPod, it isn’t and iPhone, it isn’t a MacBook… It is the long awaited Apple Tablet device, now deemed “iPad”. It has a 9.7″ screen, full multi-touch, with an onscreen keyboard. The keyboard is only a bit smaller than a full-size laptop keyboard. It is there when you want it, gone when you don’t. Battery life is remarkable on the new device, expect 10 Hours of full use on one battery charge and a month of standby time. Steve Jobs declared that he can fly from San Francisco to New York and back and watch videos on the iPad the whole time.
What? Microsoft Office is forbidden? Those were the exact words today of a panel of U.S. Federal Appeals Court judges. Sometimes these stories almost seem too weird to be true, “somehow Microsoft will find a way out of it”, we often think to ourselves. But I don’t think that will be the case here, at least not initially. Office will surely come back in a year or so, once they have removed all of the patent violations, but we won’t see it in stores for the better part of 2010.
It is no secret that Apple isn’t a big fan of the standard mouse and keyboard interface that most of us use everyday. During the keynote for the introduction of the iPhone, Steve Jobs admitted that Apple is “constantly searching for new methods to improve the ways in which we interact with out devices”, he then continued on to introduce the most advanced touch screen ever. This week Apple has filed a new patent for what could possibly be the next form of interactivity with next-generation macs: head-tracking.
This christmas, iTunes has a gift for you. The coolest part is that it is like one of those oddball gifts from that far-off step aunt that actually wants you to open her gift early, only this one you actually want to use.
iTunes has released a music sampler pack (iTunes Link) for anyone that wants it this christmas, for free. The best part about this gift is that it not only includes 20 favorite christmas tunes, but it also includes an iTunes LP. This is a great introduction to iTunes LP if you haven’t had the chance to try one out yet. Read the rest of this entry »
We have all seen them… We have all heard about them… We have all laughed at them. The famous “Get a Mac” commercials that started in 2006 are only 4 years only now, but in those 4 years, over 60 separate versions have been created, and all of them have become favorites. Now it is almost to no surprise that AdWeek has just named Apple’s “Get A Mac” ads, “Best Ad Campaign of the 2000′s”! Read the rest of this entry »
Anyone that has purchased an app within the past few hours, or even someone who browsed the app store looking for say… free games (Appvent Calendar: free iphone game every day until christmas) will notice a new look in the app store. Apple has just released this new look and is starting to make the change to all of the apps. Not every app shows these changes just yet, but the greater part does.
So what’s the big deal? What is new? Am I even going to notice? Yes! These are big changes, and you will notice them. Read the rest of this entry »
It has taken over a year for the elusive browser to make its’ way to mac. Ironic, only because the engine behind Chrome is WebKit, which was actually designed by Apple, for macs (specifically Safari), but nonetheless, you can download the browser starting today, in public Beta. Simply visit http://www.google.com/chrome.
There are many exciting features coming our way with this new browser, sadly as well, some features from Chrome in windows, will not be carried over to Mac. Read the rest of this entry »
When I first saw this newsline, I simply thought to myself, “well thats good, more video sites that are iPhone compatible are always nice”, then I continued on working. After about a minute I paused… thought about what I just read, and went back to the article to investigate further. Livestream is not another video supplier for iPhone, I missed the key word. Live video! Livestream has used the new quicktime live support protocol and created an amazingly simple interface to send live video to the any iPhone or iPod touch. That is when I said to myself again, “WOW, this is HUGE!”. Read the rest of this entry »
